Timing Belt Setup (Astra H VXR)
Cambelt Instillation /
1 - Make sure cylinder 1 is TDC and crankshaft timing mark aligns
2 - Make sure camshaft sprocket marks align with rocker cover
3 - Fit camshaft timing locking tool
4 - Make sure water pump tab is lined up with marking
5 - Fit timing belt in anti clockwise direction starting from crankshaft gear
6 - Slacken tensioner bolt
7 - Turn tensioner anti clockwise until pointer is on right hand side of metal tab slightly (Use Allen key)
8 - Lightly tighten tensioner bolt
9 - Remove camshaft locking tool
10 - Turn crankshaft 2 turns clockwise until marks line back up
11 - Ensure tensioner pointer is in middle of metal tab notch
12 - Tighten tensioner bolt 20nm
13 - Install components in reverse order
14 - Tighten crankshaft pulley bolts (130nm + 45°)
