UNA PERFORMANCE
Engine Build Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to all engines built, supplied, reconditioned or performance-built by UNA Performance.
1. Definitions

"UNA Performance" refers to the engine builder and supplier trading under the name UNA Performance.

"Customer" refers to the purchasing individual or company.
-
"Engine" refers to any complete or partial engine assembly supplied by UNA Performance.
2. Warranty Period
All complete engines supplied by UNA Performance carry a 12 month warranty from the date of invoice.
Warranty is strictly limited to faults proven to be a direct result of UNA Performance workmanship or components supplied that carry manufacturer warranty.
3. Running-In Requirements (Mandatory)
To maintain warranty validity, the following run-in procedure MUST be followed:
First 500 miles:
-
Engine speed not to exceed 3000 RPM
-
No boost / no wide-open throttle
-
Gentle progressive load only
After 500 miles:
-
Engine oil and oil filter must be changed
-
Only genuine OEM oil filter must be used
-
Proof of oil & filter change is required (receipt or invoice) to validate warranty claims
Failure to provide proof will invalidate the warranty.
4. Warranty Coverage
The warranty covers:
-
Labour related to confirmed engine build faults
-
Replacement of parts that are covered under the original supplier's manufacturer warranty
The warranty does NOT cover:
-
Ancillary components not supplied by UNA Performance
-
Engine failure caused by:
-
Over-revving
-
Detonation / poor mapping
-
Oil starvation
-
Overheating
-
Installation errors
-
Poor servicing
-
Abuse or racing without prior agreement
-
Incorrect fuel or lubrication
-
5. Diagnostic & Repair Procedure
If a fault is suspected:
-
The customer must notify UNA Performance immediately
-
The engine must be removed and returned to UNA Performance for inspection and diagnosis
-
UNA Performance will assess the engine and determine fault cause
If the fault is confirmed as UNA Performance responsibility:
-
Repair or replacement will be carried out at no cost to the customer
If the fault is NOT attributable to UNA Performance:
Customer will be given the option to:
-
Pay for repair and associated labour
-
Have the engine returned in its current condition at the customer’s cost
UNA Performance’s decision on fault cause is final.
6. Part Exchange & Surcharge Policy
All engines are supplied with a part-exchange or surcharge system.
The original engine must be returned for inspection. UNA Performance reserves the right to assess whether the returned engine is serviceable for rebuild.
Refund eligibility depends on:

Condition of crankshaft
-
Block integrity
-
Internal damage
-
Previous repair attempts
If the returned unit is deemed unserviceable, refund may be reduced or declined. The final decision lies with UNA Performance.
7. Installation Responsibility
UNA Performance does not accept responsibility for:

Incorrect installation by third parties
-
Incorrect torque settings on ancillary parts
-
Improper engine alignment
-
Poor cooling or oiling system condition
It is recommended all engines are installed by qualified professionals.
8. Mapping & Tuning
Warranty is void if:
-
Engine is run on an unsuitable or aggressive map
-
ECU tuning causes unsafe AFR, timing, or boost levels
All performance engines must be mapped by a reputable tuner experienced with built engines.
9. Transport & Handling
UNA Performance is not responsible for damage caused during transport by third-party couriers.
Engines must be inspected upon delivery and any damage reported immediately.
10. Technical Specifications & Liability Disclaimer
All torque settings, specifications and technical information provided by UNA Performance are supplied in good faith based on experience, measurements and industry standards at the time of build.
UNA Performance accepts no liability for injury, damage, loss or failure resulting from:

Incorrect installation
-
Misinterpretation of data
-
Modification
-
Third-party workmanship
-
Use of supplied specifications outside of our controlled build environment
It is the responsibility of the installer to independently verify all torque values and procedures against official manufacturer documentation and to ensure correct tooling and calibration is used.
UNA Performance shall not be held responsible for personal injury, vehicle damage or consequential loss arising from reliance on published or supplied technical data.
11. Limitation of Liability
UNA Performance shall not be liable for:

Loss of earnings
-
Vehicle downtime
-
Recovery charges
-
Consequential losses
Liability is strictly limited to the value of the engine supplied.
12. Motorsport & Performance Use
Performance engines and components are supplied for high-stress applications. Use is at the customer’s own risk.
Power figures are indicative only and depend on supporting modifications, tuning and operating conditions.
13. Acceptance of Terms
By purchasing an engine from UNA Performance, the customer confirms acceptance of these Terms & Conditions in full.
UNA Performance reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time.
